The Panic Protocol
See how fear feeds the panic loop.
A 53-second excerpt from the Panic Protocol lesson. Jon explains how an alarming interpretation can amplify a body sensation. The full lesson runs 14 minutes 44 seconds.

The method, on paper
Put a real worry through the practice.
If you’ve read the books but find the ideas hard to use when you’re anxious, SAM gives you an order to practise them. It combines Stoic practice with cognitive and behavioural exercises.
Examine the prediction. Notice what you expect to happen in a situation that worries you.
Work it through on paper. Use the Triple Column Technique to examine the thought and write a more balanced response.
Choose your next action. Try a Behavioural Experiment to test a prediction in everyday life, while anxiety may still be present.
Take the Burns Anxiety Inventory and GAD-7 at the start and around day 30, then compare your scores with your notes on what you did. The scores are one part of that review; they cannot tell you what caused a change.

A welcome from Jon
I built this because I needed it.
I’m Jon Brooks, the writer and teacher behind The Stoic Handbook. After a violent assault when I was about 18, anxiety became something I lived with for years. Stoicism gave me a response I could train. That’s why I built this course: to practise responding to anxiety in the situations where it shows up in your own life.

YOUR NOTION PRACTICE SPACE
A place to return to, every day.
Open the morning journal, name what’s weighing on you, and choose one small action. Return in the evening to see what you learnt.
The illustrated dashboard brings nine journal templates and your 30-day checklist together, with links back to the course and workbooks. Each page has clear prompts and space to make the practice your own.
Examine a thought with the Triple Column Technique, weigh a repeating habit, or prepare for an upcoming conversation. Choose the practice that fits; you don’t need to complete every journal.
Prefer paper? The Practice Workbook gives you another way to work with the course.

Inside the course
A four-week route you can return to.
On your first visit, watch the welcome and read the course guide. That is enough to begin. Read the safety note before trying the practices, then get familiar with the Panic Protocol. Week 1 explores your anxiety patterns; Week 2 guides you through the practices. In Week 3, work with your own thoughts on paper and try a chosen action. Week 4 brings the practice into daily life, followed by a review around day 30. Take longer whenever you need to. The extended workshops can continue beyond the fourth week.
The Meditation Library includes The 3am Return, Pre-Meeting Reset and The Rumination Interrupt: practices for a wakeful night, the meeting ahead, or a thought you keep coming back to. Explore all 12 sections and 77 lessons and resources below.

Fit
Is this the right course for you?
This course may suit you if
You have read Stoic material and want help putting it into practice. You want a structure you can follow at your own pace. You accept that anxiety may still be present while you choose your next action.
This course is not the right fit if
You are in acute crisis, you are looking for a diagnosis or daily one-to-one support, or you expect anxiety to disappear. If that is what you need, I would rather say so here than take your money.
